Fatima "Fifi" Biteye is the founder, CEO and expert braider behind Fula Beauty — and the author of every guide on this site.
From her mother's hands to yours
With over 10 years of experience, Fifi is a self-taught expert braider whose passion for hair began with her mother, Lissoune — a valued member of the Fula Beauty team. Her mother passed down the foundations of the craft, which Fifi continued to develop through years of dedicated practice and online training.
Her braiding journey became a business in 2018, when Fula Beauty opened its first salon in Jackson, Mississippi. By consistently sharing their work online and providing beautiful, dependable services, Fula Beauty built a community of more than 200,000 followers across social media.
Today, people from around the world follow the brand's work, while Fula Beauty serves clients from its salon in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Since 2018, the salon has cared for more than 2,600 clients — with the goal of making every appointment feel personal and every hairstyle exceptional.
